That sounds so fascinating. I love letters anyway. I am forever jealous of the, hmmmm, how to put it--high literary quality of the letters and journals of yore. They're often such a pleasure to read for their own quality of prose in addition to the light they shed on a time period or a historical figure.

The relationship of patronage is such a complex one. Your review makes me think that their relationship eventually sours. What happens?
