Another one of these posts, but I only have 100 or so pages to go on French JS&MN, so next week there may be something different (likely The Eye of the World, which I'm planning to reread in preparation for the TV series).
Jonathan Strange et Mr. Norrell, Susanna Clarke, translated by Isabelle Delord-Philippe. Jonathan Strange has been hanging out in Venice with Lord Byron and others! Some plot stuff happened, and now he is in a tower of eternal darkness, which he doesn't really mind because he's hyperfocused on magic, but everyone else finds very distressing, except for Lord Byron, who thinks this is SUPER METAL (or whatever the Byron-era equivalent is). Favorite character who I have no memory of from previous reads is Frank, Dr. Greysteel's servant who exists mainly to give Drawlight a literal kick in the pants.
Unfortunately, I seem to have found a serious translation mistake:

On a positive note, "les fous et les fées" has a great sound, much better than "madmen and fairies"!
