The Shadow Rising, Robert Jordan -- got off to a good start (no prologue! Min point of view!) but then I got distracted by shiny objects other books and set it aside.
The Heart Principle, Helen Hoang. Saw this recommended by friends a while back, was intrigued by the premise, and put a hold for it in the library. It's excellent, but not what I expected -- things get much worse for the protagonist before they get better, and I was crying through the last third. Cathartic, and gave me a lot to think about. This is the first Helen Hoang I've tried, and I'll be interested in looking for her other books at some point -- I gather they're more standard romance plots, but I'm here for neurotypical people navigating human relationships.
Hertha Ayrton, 1854-1923, a memoir, by Evelyn Sharp. Reviewed here.
