Perhaps the Stars, Ada Palmer. Still reading this! Made it to the battle over the space elevator with all the factions, this will be harder going.

osprey_archer). Finally got to reading this, and it was as good as I'd hoped! Does an excellently paced romance plot with difficulties that came naturally out of the characters (and one of them having woken up from a 100 year sleep) -- also a very vivid 1960's setting.
