Which is to say: I finally made my way to the letterpress lab at the library, and now have some woodblock-printed signs saying "LOVE NOT FEAR" and "a11 that glitters is not gold" (oops on using the 1's for the frist two l's!). I should figure out what sort of printed items I actually want in my life beyond printing random messages). Anyway, short books update:

The Spirit Ring, Lois McMaster Bujold. That was fun, and very wholesome (for a book about necromancy, I mean). Will be interested to hear what book group has to say about it.

Children of Ruin, Adrian Tchaikovksy. I'm maybe a third of the way in, and the story is starting to go somewhere, but I'm not yet sure where?

In the late 1970s (?) I took a class in how to use a letter press at Boston Center for Adult Education. Our class projects were supposed to be business cards, I think, but I made little "please come to tea" cards. I still think fondly of presses, but never tried it again.

If you don't use coasters, how do you keep mugs or glasses from leaving rings on furniture?
