7 July 2021 21:15Aestus: Book 2: The Colony. Did not like as much as book 1, too much love polygon, not enough plot twists. But it was still fun, and I am curious where the series goes from here.
The House of Always, Jenn Lyons. Book 4 of A Chorus of Dragons series, have only just started. Lyons likes clever framing devices, and I haven't got far enough to figure out how this book is framed. But we have Senera narrator again, thank you Senera for the footnotes!
Macbeth, William Shakespeare. Read aloud with a different group than usual -- and actually, due to lack of critical mass, we just did the Thane of Ross Director's Cut, which is to say, only the scenes that the Thane of Ross appears in (but the whole scene, not just the bits with Ross onstage). This actually works pretty well at getting some of the highlights (one witch scene, the ghost scene, the Lady Macduff scene), as well as getting Ross's character arc -- though he's generally less exciting than whatever else is going on in his scene.
