The Tyrant Baru Cormorant, Seth Dickinson. *Still* not tyrant, though at least Baru has plans now involving an absurd number of marriages and divorces, the kind of thing that would work better in a LARP than with real people (or in a romantic comedy would go hilariously awry). I set this aside for the next Toby Daye, because it's long and I need a break. But it is going places! Also I have Thoughts on the pure mathematician character, but I will set those aside for later.
A Killing Frost, Seanan McGuire. New Toby book! So far so fun, apart from the bit where everyone's screwed right now. But enjoying being with some of my favorite characters, and the worldbuilding and banter. (Though the detail of fae law that kicked off this book's plot feels like it could have been introduced/foreshadowed earlier than book 14 in a series.) Curious whether this book will confirm disprove any of my/A's pet theories. Anyway, I'm back to it.
