Jonathan Strange et Mr. Norrell, Susanna Clarke, translated by Isabelle Delord-Philippe. Wow, this book is a trip -- you'd think I'd remember this, but the last time I tried rereading I only got through part I which is mostly comedy of manners stuff, and now I just had the scene with the king. Wow. (Not much to say about the translation this week.)
The Last Graduate, Naomi Novik. This just came out! And I've been warned that the ending is an awful cliffhanger, but I'm still excited for the ride, if dreading what sort of terrible stuff is in store (book 1 ended up having a more upbeat ending than I expected, so maybe the bad stuff is all being saved up for book 2). Anyway, I still like the characters and the setting a lot!
