I don't actually have that much to say, book-wise -- partly because my last post was on Friday, and partly because progress on Empress of Forever has been slow.  (A little confusing that it's been going slower than my last book, which was in French -- but I think that's partly circumstances, and I've felt less like reading.)

Empress of Forever, Max Gladstone: the space RPG party continues on its way, and has a new monster to fight.  Hasn't really grabbed me all that much: perhaps I should just go read more so I'll have more to say next week.

However, my hold (through Old Library System) on The Miscalculations of Lightning Girl did, finally, come through!  So I may take a break for that.  This is a middle-grade book I learned about through the Goodreads Choice awards, whose premise, though designed to hit all the buttons to make me cringe, but also made me curious.  First of all it's yet another a homeschooler-goes-back to school book, and I am tired of this being the primary story that our culture's fiction tells about homeschoolers.  But also the protagonist "got genius-level math skills" when she was hit by lighting as a kid.  This is not how anything works.  But it's well-reviewed on Goodreads, so hopefully it does better than its premise.
