Short post this week.
Cursor's Fury, Jim Butcher. It got off to a good start, but now Tavi is being dragged away from his undergraduate research experience in "let's build a catapult without using any magic!" to be part of some silly war. I assume at some point the siege engine experience will be useful, though right now the catapult is not any better at throwing things than a magically-equipped human. Decided to take a break to read:
The Shortest Way to Hades, Sarah Caudwell. This was a nice, cleverly-plotted and -written murder mystery. I'm not really sure I have that much to say about it otherwise?
