landofnowhereThe Assassins of Thasalon, Lois McMaster Bujold. This was a satisfying, plotty, feel-good Penric story. (I feel bad for Nikys, being relegated to stay-at-home mom while Penric has a career and does adventures. Maybe we'll get more development of her character in future books.)
A Memory Called Empire, Arkady Martine. Reread for Monday's book club, didn't get all the way through in time (and still haven't), but it was fun reading at a feverish pace, the book is very page-turn-y. Enjoying more on a reread now that I know who everybody is.
Emperor of the Moon, Aphra Behn. Play readaloud. Restoration farce, with amusing pseudo-scientific flimflam. Pretty standard farce material, but amusing.
