Catfishing on CatNet, Naomi Kritzer. This did not disappoint -- it is very good, and entirely charming, It's a feel-good story with some dark moments, entertaining and sometimes moving. Starts out as a "new kid in school" story, but ultimately moves along with an action plot. Also some really nice depictions of online friendships. I feel like a lot of YA-ish fiction that I read doesn't do such a good job with that, even when it acknowledges that its protagonist does have an online life. It is clearly setting up for sequels, but tells a complete story by itself.
Starsight, Brandon Sanderson. I'm partway through it, and this is also good fun! Second book of a series where the protagonist spent the first book (and her life) building up a specific skillset, and has now been thrown into a situation where she needs another skillset. I am sure there are plot twists coming but not sure what they are.
